Ceramic Saddle Rings
Ceramic Saddle Rings (Ceramic Saddles, also named as Ceramic Saddle Ring) are one of the types of industrial packing. They are made of electrotechnical ceramics and are used to fill the packed columns and other heat and mass transfer equipment with the invasive environment. Ceramic Saddles Intalox are available to the order of sizes: 1″ (25 mm), 1.5″ (37 mm), 2″ (50 mm), 3″ (75 mm). Intalox saddles relate to irregular acid-resistant packing. The surface of the Intalox saddle is part of the torus. Compared to Raschig rings, Intalox saddles with the same size of packed bodies have a 25% larger specific surface area and a slightly larger free volume. Saddle-backed packing has less hydraulic resistance and greater efficiency, than the Raschig rings. Advantage
● These saddles are made from chemical porcelain and have excellent resistance to acids except in the case of hydrofluoric acid.
● Moisture absorption must less than half a percent.
●The porcelain’s specific gravity is 2.3-2.4g/cm3 and an average heat capacity (between 20℃ and 500℃ of 0.22 cal/g.℃)
Ceramic saddles softening point is 1400℃ min. And they show good thermal shock resistance during repeated cycling between 20℃ and 820 ℃.
