Baffled plate mist eliminators are widely used in wet processes. The distance between the two plates in the baffle demister is 25-35mm. The liquid droplets in the flue gas flow in a zigzag manner in the baffle and continuously collide with the wall to condense into large particles. Under the action of gravity, they slide down along the demister blades until they reach the slurry pool, thereby removing the liquid droplets carried by the flue gas. The baffle type mist eliminator can be divided into two types in terms of structural form: flat plate type and ridge type. The ridge type mist eliminator has a high design flow rate, and the fog droplets that collide with the corrugated plate can concentrate and flow down, reducing the phenomenon of smoke entrainment.
The mist removal area is also larger than the horizontal type, so the mist removal efficiency is high. The concentration of droplets discharged at the outlet is ≤ 50 mg/m ³. General conventional design requirements require a droplet concentration of ≤ 75mg/m emitted from the outlet of the mist eliminator ³.

The mist eliminator is used to separate the droplets entrained by the gas in the tower to ensure mass transfer efficiency and reduce costs.In order to reduce the value loss of materials and improve the operation of the compressor after the tower, a mist eliminator is generally installed at the top of the tower, which can effectively remove 3–5um droplets. If a mist eliminator is installed between the trays, it can not only ensure the mass transfer efficiency of the trays, but also reduce the spacing between the trays. Therefore, mist eliminators are mainly used for gas-liquid separation. Can also be used as an air filter for gas separation.
